Well, this has been a tough but interesting year for geaNostra, with many child illnesses that we’ve fortunately left behind. Today on October 20. 2009. geaNostra celebrates it’s first birthday. We hope it will celebrate many more growing to be better, more interesting and more inspiring every year, and to get many more friends.

geaNostra enters first million

We’ve finally entered the top million sites according to Alexa web service two days ago. I’m very proud of it, because it means we’re more visited than 30 millions of other sites (domains). Although not the most exact, Alexa’s traffic details and ranking are trusted by many webmasters and often serves as a reference for site comparison.

Heart-shaped island found with Google Earth

A small desert heart-shaped island has been spotted with Google Earth. It is located in the North Adriatic sea, off shore from Croatia, near the city of Zadar. The island, formerly named Galešnjak (Galeshniak) has been renamed by the owners to Lovers’ Island.

With a surface of just 11 hectares (130.000 sq. yards), this island could become an ideal excursions location for Valentine’s day. (more…)

Google phone has come to US shops

The G1, better known as Google Phone, has come to US T-Mobile shops to compete with the iPhone, the absolute leader of the high class with more than 10 millions of units sold this year.

Costing just 179 $ with a minimal contract of 2 years, the new mobile is the first to attract so much intention since the Apple phone (199 & 299 $), but it still has a hard battle to fight. (more…)

Google Translate now in more languages

Google’s popular translating tool – Google Translate now comes in some new languages. We’ve tested and compared some of these, like the Serbian, Croatian and Spanish, and came to a conclusion that the new ones have nothing to envy to the older. There are some translation mistakes, of course, but not any more than other languages, and you can suggest a better translation. (more…)
