Ingredients:

  • a carp up to 1 kg
  • 100 g roe
  • 2 onions
  • 2 dl tomato juice
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 dl white wine
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • 1 laurel leaf
  • oil, salt

If you’re into freshwater fish, carp is certainly one of the most popular. Originally from Europe and Asia, the carps are a large number of freshwater fish species, though in colloquial use, carp usually refers only to several larger cyprinid species such as Cyprinus carpio (common carp), Carassius carassius (Crucian carp), Ctenopharyngodon idella (grass carp), Hypophthalmichthys molitrix (silver carp), and Hypophthalmichthys nobilis (bighead carp).
