You’ve probably heard about iPad a lot these days, and you’re probably wondering what is it. Someone might have even mixed it with the iPod. Well, it’s just one letter of difference, right? Wrong.
What is it about this new device that made experts, electronic devices geeks, institutional media, professional publications and blogs, speculate so much about it months before it officially existed?
I usually avoid trying thingies like this on facebook, thinking they’re a waste of time and not working, but for some reason I tried this one, and it works! It creates “magic circles” following your mouse pointer.
Press up arrow, up,down, down, left, right, left, right,b,a,enter key then right click. Then press up then down & magic circles will appear!
One small correction: I’ve got a comment for this on Digg and the guy says:
old. and that last “rightclick+up+down” is completely unnecessary.
Do you know other cool facebook tricks (that work)?
Here’s a great video that shows how a drop of water actually behaves, shot at 2000 frames per second and displayed 67 times slower. When the drop hits the water surface, it’s not completely connected to it, because there is a thin layer of air between the two bodies of water, but as the air is pushed aside, an important part of the drop merges with the water surface, and the rest bounces. And this happens all the time until the drop is completely dissolved! Isn’t it amazing?
Well, this has been a tough but interesting year for geaNostra, with many child illnesses that we’ve fortunately left behind. Today on October 20. 2009. geaNostra celebrates it’s first birthday. We hope it will celebrate many more growing to be better, more interesting and more inspiring every year, and to get many more friends.
Here’s a new Google Wave demo in a Pulp Fiction style. In my previous post about Google Wave, “Google Wave is coming. Are you ready for it?” you can find a bit more info and an hour and a half long video about this new internet revolution. Enjoy finding out about it in this way more interesting way. Though it might be a bit too fast
A giant piano keyboard lays on the stairs of Stockholm’s Odenplan metro station.
”Take the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator and feel better” is something we often hear or read in the Sunday papers. Few people actually follow that advice. Can we get more people to take the stairs over the escalator by making it fun to do?
Today might be the day when Google opens the Pandora’s box that will change forever the way we use and develop the internet. If you thought Facebook was a revolution, wait till Google Wave grabs it’s users! And it most probably will, since there are already more than 146 million users of GMail, which will probably constitute the base for the user base of Google Wave. This might even start the web 3.0 era.
Nokia is still the greenest electronics company, followed by Samsung and Sony Ericsson according to Greenpeace’s Guide to greener Electronics. Below you can see the interactive chart. The bottom of the list is populated by Nintendo, Fujitsu and Lenovo. (more…)
A few days ago we started the process of redesigning geaNostra. Although some bugs may still remain, the site has a new look and navigation, and the designing process is finished. In the next few days we’ll be reorganizing the site, probably merging the Info and Kitchen sections into one blog and moving it to the root directory. Therefore, if you’re redirected from a search engine or another site to a non-existing page, take a look at the URL (address) and if there is /info or /kitchen in it, try removing it. If you still can not find it, try searching for it using the site’s navigation.
We’re also giving up the Club idea (forums, blogs, gallery…), and instead, we’ll add a photo section, linking to quality blogs on other sites and let those who are interested to write at geaNostra.
Hopefully, all the mess generated this way will be cleared in a few months.
I’m proud to announce the new geaTV v2.0, a completely redone and classified video playlists site. Until yesterday, geaTV was a single page, and now it’s a sub-site and the pioneer with the new visual identity of geaNostra. Also, in the meantime, a few dozens of new videos have been added. Six channels have been organized and added to geaTV: Classic cartoons, Music [Fiesta!, Calentito], Trailers and Tours. (more…)
